This is a live online, interactive suicide prevention workshop that is designed to respond to the foundational learning needs of service providers.

This workshop is comprised of four learning modules that are delivered over a two-day period.

• This is an intense and interactive workshop and to create safety and encourage learning, participants are required to keep their cameras on and ensure that their audio is working for the duration of the workshop.
• Participants are encouraged to respect different ideas and communicate in a way that facilitates a safe learning environment
• All participants are required to remain present and engaged in the course.
• Certificates of completion will NOT be issued if participants have their cameras turned off, miss more than half an hour of the course, do not participate or are attending to errands/driving during the course.

Learning Objectives:

• Dispel some of the myths around suicide.
• Explore participants’ personal beliefs regarding suicide.
• Enhance participants’ knowledge, self-awareness and skills to recognize when an individual may be having thoughts of suicide.
• Enhance participants’ understanding and knowledge of practical suicide prevention techniques.
• Enable participants to confidently make appropriate and timely interventions if they think someone is having thoughts of suicide.
• Enhance participants knowledge around creating effective safety plans
